The Martin & Mary (Weekly) Lisan Family Home Page

Updated September 6, 2000

I am just starting my research and haven't honed in on a particular branch of the family yet, because I have equal amounts of information for both sides.
My husband's side of the family is the maternal Shultz (Silc) from Ohio and Western PA, Chuhuran from Ohio and Western PA and paternal Lisan from New York.

My side of the family is maternal Kutger from the Catskills, New York, Liston from Ireland and New York City and paternal Weekly from Louisiana, Cornnor from Louisiana.

Some interesting information:
On my paternal side, I have a copy of a land grant to a Joseph Weekly (born 1820) signed by President Buchanan on February 1, 1860.

I also have a diary on my maternal side from my great grandmother, Elizabeth Evans Liston with an entry after her husband had died in 1908, saying that it was better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. She died in 1915 (at age 28), never having married again, and leaving 3 daughters (the oldest 11, the youngest 7) to be raised by relatives.
