* "The Richard Lisle Family Home Page"*

Updated November 27, 2000

The Lisle family is descended from German, Swiss and Scotch Irish. In the great immigration starting in the early 1700's the families emigrated from Europe and initially settled in Eastern Pennsylvania. They later moved westward to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in the Greensburg area, ultimately settling in Franklin County, Ohio in the early 1800's. The surnames were Lisle, Altman, Troxel, Ryall, Moore, Spangler, Zimmerman, Stewart, McIntyre, Nafzger, and Otstott.
The Altmans arrived on the ship Phoenix, the Spanglers and Troxels on the ship Samuel.
My information is free to all and I would welcome any additions and/or corrections.
