Abraham left the town of Breitembach in the German district of Zweibruecken in 1748 with his wife and children for America. He eventually settled in the area of Kutztown, Pennsylvania around where the Biebers lived. Amongst the children of his, Dewalt, were Catherine and Abraham who married George and Catherine Beaver, respectively. Kieffer was often spelled Kifferin in the records.
