Both families emigrated to Essex Co. Ontario, from Ireland during and shortly after the Great Famine. The Pettypieces coming from Co. Sligo and the Shuels from Co. Kerry Other allied lines include Jones, Henderson, Walker, and Lacy from KY. Wright, Klingensmith (Clingensmith) from PA, Brush from CT and Kurtz from Germany to Kurtzville ONT to Michigan.
