1. William de Bolling: fined in 1165.
2. William de Bolling: father and son, owned land in Nowhall and Bolling;
both were benefactors of Kirkstall Abbey.
3. Robert de Bolling: in 1246 owned land in Bolling; probably son of William de Bolling, the younger.
4. John de Bolling: paid relief for his father's land on Robert's death in 1258/9.
5. William de Bolling: succeeded his father John; was owner of Bolling in 1285 and 1316.
6. John de Bolling: head of family in 1318; made a grant by deed in 1330 to son Robert.
7. Robert de Bolling: died 1370; m. 1337 Elizabeth daughter and heiress of Roger de Thornton.
8. John de Bolling: succeeded his father Robert; died about 1408; m. Grace daughter of William Popeley.
9. Robert de Bolling: son and heir of John; died before 1423; m. Margaret daughter of Thomas Thornore.
10. Robert Bolling: succeeded his father's possessions; he & son Tristram fought at Towton with the
Lancastrians in 1461; attained of high treason; pardoned 26 Jan. 1475; died 1487; m. Isabel Thornton
11. Tristram Bolling: will dated 7 April 1502 names son Edward Bolling; m.1) Beatrice, daughter of
Walter Calverley - by contract dated 1446, contract made when he was a child; m.2) Ellen.
12. Edward Bolling: died at Chellow 1543; son and heir was Tristram.
13. Tristram Bolling: succeeded his father at Chellow; died 1561; bequeathed the Chellow estate to
Edward, his oldest son.
14. Edward Bolling: resided at Chellow and died there 1592; his widow, Maud, m.2) Thomas Fleming
who left a legacy to Edward's son Robert in his will dated 13 October 1610.
15. Robert Bolling: settled in London; will dated 5 September 1639 names wife Anne, who was the
daughter of Thomas Clarke of London, and his son John.
16. John Bolling: the eldest son; lived in London; m. Mary Carie.
17. Robert Bolling: (the emigrant) born 26 Dec. 1646; bapt. at All Hallows; emigrated to America;
arrived 2 Oct 1660; m. 1675 Jane, daughter of Thomas Rolfe.
