These descendents of Peter Livergood and Phoebe Yocom (Yocum or Yokum) were compiled by Ethyl Livergood McDonald in 1938, and are offered here for your interest. I hope she would be pleased. In short form, it is generally considered that all Livergoods are related to one another through Peterís (probable) grandfather, Ulrich Liebengut (b. 1688, m. Anna Henni or "Susanna") of Canton Bern, Switzerland. It is known that Ulrich and Susanna traveled in 1733 from London to Philadelphia aboard the "Charming Betty" with five children, including son Johan Peiter (b. 1716 Switzerland, m. Christiana Mohn). The ship's register lists the family as "Leebegoot."From Johan Peiter and Christiana, married in New Hanover, PA 1749, were nine children, including Peter (b. 1755, PA). Through the generations the name has evolved from Liebengut to Livergood, with various stops in between. If youíre a Livergood, youíll probably find your ancestors in this outline. If you have additional information to offer, or would like to update with your own, more current family branch, please forward and I will gladly include in my files. Check back periodically for updates. Good luck.
