Updated September 6, 2000

We are the Robert Lee Livermore Sr. Family. There are 7 siblings and lots of grandchildren. We are direct descendants of John Livermore, Watertown, MA died April 14, 1684. We are very actively looking for additonal lines of the Livermore Family. Hoping to publish an updated version of Walter Eliot Thwing's, "The Livermore Family of America".We have visited Watertown and found many of John's descendants' graves and homes. We hope to travel to England and further our research into John's ancestors. Our Parents live in Beaverville, IL. Bob, the oldest lives in OK. Sandy and Pat in Kankakee, I live in Munster, IN, Gary in Frankfort, IL, Steve in Champaign, IL and Eugene in Minot, ND.Any help you can provided us will be greatly appreciated!Descendants of John LIVERMOREGeneration No. 11. JOHN2 LIVERMORE (PETER1) was born September 30, 1604 in Little Thurlow, Suffolk, Eng. [1] Livermore Book1, and died April 14, 1684 in Watertown, Middlesex, MA2. He married GRACE SHERMAN 1633 in England3, daughter of EDMUND SHERMAN and JOAN MAKIN.Notes for JOHN LIVERMORE:John is probably the ancestor of most of the Livermore's in the United States. He embarked be Ipswich, England for New England in Apr. 1634 at age 28. He sailed on the "Francis", John Cutting, master. A large portion of the passengers settled in Watertown. In the list of passengers, his name is spelled John Lyuermore. Quite a bit more about John and Grace in both the Livermore Book and Bond book. I plan on scanning the information in at a later date.John is buried in "The Old Burying Place" in Watertown, MA. I visited the cemetery on 11-20-94, but couldn't find his grave.I revisited the cemetery in 1995 and found John's grave about 75 feet from the entrance behind the tall monument. John is separated from the rest of the Livermore's. Someone has left a plastic flower next to the grave. I removed what appeared to be part of the gravestone(lying on the ground) and have it in my possession.Once again, visited John's grave in June of 1995 with my parents (Robert and Dorothy), my sisters (Sandy and Patricia) and my wife (Kathi). We photograph the grave and left flowers.I entered John's death date into my daytimer and will attempt to reflect each year. 1997 first year. I noticed I had John's death date wrong and changed it. I am still working on scanning the Livermore Book.Notes for GRACE SHERMAN:Maiden name could be "Marin". This name appear when database was imported. Need to verify mother. Grace was born in 1615 and Joan died in 1611?She died in her daughter's house in Clemsford, Mass and is buried in the cemetery near the gate. Children of JOHN LIVERMORE and GRACE SHERMAN are:2. i.
