Friend, welcome to our home page! Our roots go back to the Wales, England, and the Mayflower. On the LLOYD side, my roots are primarily Welsh, English, Scottish, and Irish, and they are also strongly Quaker, for 200+ years from the 1600s to the 1900s. Our Quaker migration went from:
1. Wales, to Philadelphia, PA, to Mt. Pleasant, Ohio (1600's-1800's) on the LLOYD side;

and on the ABIGAIL MACY STANTON/DILLINGHAM side from,

1. Nantucket, Mass., (1771)to
2. Guilford, NC., to
3. Mt.Pleasant, OH, (1800).

From Ohio, a short trip to IOWA, and then the Lloyd's settled in Knoxville, TN (perhaps Friendsville/Maryville, TN) after the civil war for the next 100 years.

Family names include LLOYD, BALDWIN, LEACH, DALY, CUNNINGHAM, DILLINGHAM, MACY, GARDNER, HILL, GROSS, WILLIAMS, THOMAS and others . . . . . . . . . JOHN LLOYD was an artisan, a "glover" from Wales. His son, THOMAS LLOYD immigrated around 1715, and bought Moreland Manor, PA. Thomas m. MARY HARKER, daughter of ADAM HARKER, in 1724. Thomas and Mary's son, JOHN LLOYD II married SUSANNAH FIELD, and had sons JOHN LLOYD III and BENJAMIN LLOYD, among others, I'm sure.

Other ancestors I am looking for are:

JOHN HILL'S parents and his wife, Elizabeth?. JOHN & ELIZABETH had STEPHEN HILL who was born in 1826, Carter County, Tennessee. Stephen served on the Union side of the Civil War with his future grandfather-in-law, JOSEPH MCNUTT, in 9th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry.

JOHN LEACH, who married BETTY COMER, probably of Cedar Creek, Campbell County, TN. Their son was JOHN HARVEY LEACH, 1876-1934, who had 3 wives, ELIZA GROSS, ? QUEENER, and RUTH ANN LIENART. The family farms were in Spring City and Oak Grove, TN.

And we are looking for information about . . .

ALPHONSO HARD & FREDERICK T. HARD. Of special interest at this point in time is a recent discovery regarding the HARD family name. We have recently discovered that a transcription error was made regarding the son of AMMON HARD, SAMUEL . . . AKA LEMUEL. They both have the same birthdates, parents, and siblings, so we're pretty sure they are the same person. With this link we can take the family history back to the James Hard that is so well documented.

LEMUEL HARD m. LYDIA (surname unknown) and had ALPHONSO HARD, b. around 1820? ALPHONSO HARD & his wife ELIZABETH DUSENBURY (spelling may vary) had at least three sons, FREDERICK T. HARD, b. 1841 in Rye, NY; ALPHONSO JR., who died in 1846, at age 4, in CT, and BENJAMIN F. HARD, b. 1844, in NYC, NY. We believe there may have been another brother, named HORACE B. HARD, as well as a sister, named MARY HARD (MARVIN?), but we have no documentation regarding MARY. We also know that ALPHONSO and FREDERICK moved out to Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan, in the 1840s-1870s. We want very much to know the particulars of that move!

FYI, my husband and I both have roots that go back to the Mayflower and England, including the following Mayflower families: BREWSTER, SOULE, HOPKINS, HOWLAND, MAYHEW, UNDERWOOD, SPARE, SNOW, HARD, BACON, and others.

Generally speaking the information you get from our reports is well documented. However, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy, particularly on the very early generations, as we have relied on other researchers for that information.

Any information you may have would be most appreciated. Please e-mail me at uujeanne@comcast.com. Blessings, friend.
