| I am researching the Loader family from Abingdon, Berks in England. Samuel Loader came to Australia in the early 1890's and was in the Beenleigh area where he met and later married (in Bundaberg) Emma Meilandt. Her family is a mystery as she apparently wasn't sure of her surname, thinking it may have been Lausen. She came to Australia with a relative Peder Meilandt or maybe she came out later to work for him. Sam and Emma had eight children. The other branch of research is the Maeyke family who has proven very elusive. Alexander Arno Maeyke and his wife Anna Laura (nee Wettengel)came to Australia round 1910 and settled in the Mundubbera area in Queensland. They had three children - Selma, Margaret, Karl and later added two sons named Ed? and Arno. |
