On August 8, 1685 Robert Locklear came over the ship called " Blessing " from England to Charleston S.C. He was probably and indentured servant of Stephen Bull at Charleston , S.C.
Captain John ( Jack ) Barnwell and Captain Stephen Bull came into this area to fight the Tuscarora Indians.
Captain Bull as the cammander of a company of Indians. As a reward for his services , Robert Locklear received land in Edgecombe County , up northeast of North Carolina . And a Indian Slave
from the market at Boston , Charleston and Etc. The local indian would have escaped at that time .
Robert had two son , John and Major Locklear . He lived in Quanky Creek in Edgecombe
County , N.C. He was also a land owner in upper South Caroline which is now a part of Robeson County.
