In the 1910 Census for Athens County, OH, Okley, Mable M and Roman are inicated as step-children for George.

George's death certiticate indicates he was 77 years old when he died and that he died of cancer. He was residing in Kensington, OH at the time of his death and indicates his father's name as John Locke. The informant was his daughter Oakley.

He married MAYMIE LUCAS January 21, 1903 in Hocking County, Ohio ³⁰³, daughter of JOHN LUCAS and CORILDA ADROS. She was born November 05, 1885 in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio.

Notes for ELMER LOCKE:
Both Elmer and Maymie were living in Monday, Hocking County at the time of their marriage. Elmer was a coal miner and neither had been married before. Elmer was 18 years of age at the time and Maymie was 17. They later divorced. In 1920, Elmer was living near his aunt Nancy in Hocking Co, Ward Township, Monday, OH.

Elmer was still alive and living in Akron in 1952 and is mentioned in his sister Sarah's obituary.

From his death certificate: Elmer died at the age of 75 and died in the City Hospital in Akron, OH. The informant for his death certificate was a Miss Eileen Locke of Akron, OH; it also shows no entry for the names of his parents. It indicates that Elmer was divorced at the time of his death. Elmer's death certificate indicates that while the immediate cause of death was unknown, he had arterioclerosis. It indicates that he was a retired coal miner. The Adams Funeral Home of Akron handled the arrangements.

Notes for WALTMAN "WAKE" LOCKE:
The name Wake appears on the death certificate with the parents being named as Lindsey Locke and Margaret Ann Smith. The 1900 census shows Margaret to have had 6 children and one of them was named Waltman. It is assumed Wake is the name referred to as Waltman. The 1920 census shows that Wake, Margaret and their daughter Jesse were living in York Township, Athens County, OH. Wake is listed as a coal miner.

The death certificate for Wake indicates that he 88 years old and a widower at the time of his death. The death certificate was singed by Arthur Locke of Lisbon, OH. He was a retired coal miner who died of bronchial pneumonia. He had lived in rural Madison Township for about 34 years.

At the time of their marriage, Hiram indicates that he was living in Monday, Ohio and Oney was living in Longstreth, Hocking County, OH. Hiram was a coal miner. This was the first marriage for both. Hiram, Ona and their children Linzey and Ruth were found in the 1910 census for Athens County, OH

206. ARCH⁶ LOCKE (LINDSEY⁵, LINDSEY⁴, NEAL³, GEORGE W², JOHN¹) was born October 01, 1879 in Lawrence County, Ohio³¹⁰, and died July 11, 1973 in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio³¹¹. He married FRANCIS "FANNIE" MCCAMMON November 19, 1899 in Athens County, Ohio ³¹², daughter of GEORGE MCCAMMON and EMMA TAYLOR. She was born February 1880 in Lawrence County, Ohio ³¹³, and died 1965 in Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio.

Notes for ARCH LOCKE:
The marriage certificate for Arch and Francis indicate he was a 20 year coal miner living in Monday, Hocking County, Ohio at the time of his marriage in 1899. Margaret was 19, born in Lawrence County and was living in Buchtel, Ohio. Both the marriage and death certificates indicate his father as Linzey (Lindsey) and mother as Margaret Smith. Linzey gave his consent to the marriage. Arch was also found with Fannie in the 1900 Carbon Hill, Hocking County federal census. This census indicates his father was born in Kentucky (not Virginia). The 1910 Ohio Soundex shows the family located in Buchtel.

Arch and his family were found in the 1920 Dover Township, Athens County, Ohio federal census. Arch and Fannie are buried near each other in Greenlawn cemetery. No date of death appears on Arch's inscription. His death certificate indicates he hied of a "cerebrovascular accident" at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Nelsonville, OH. The informant was his daughter, Forest Jones. It also indicates he was a coal miner.

The following obit appeared for Arch Lock:
Nelsonville - Arch Lock, 93, of Nelsonville Route 1, died Wednesday in Mount St. Mary Hospital. Born in Lawrence County, he was a son of Linsey and Margaret Smith Lock. He was a 50 year member of the Murray City Eagles Lodge and was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah and a son, Fred.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Jones and Mrs. Margaret Patton, both of Nelsonville; four grandchildren and 17 great grand-children.

Services will be Saturday, 2 P.M. in the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Bookman officiating. Burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M.

She married (1) GEORGE W DIXON, son of THOMAS DIXON and MARTHA STEWART. He was born December 13, 1878 in Greenup, Kentucky, and died December 13, 1878 in Athens County, OH. She married (2) ELROY E WILLIAMS September 20, 1902 in Hocking County, Ohio, son of ISAAC WILLIAMS and MARY SHUMWAY. He was born June 12, 1875 in Songbottom, Ohio.

Martha was listed as a "domestic" living with the Thomas Dixon family in the 1900 federal census for Carbon Hill, Hocking County, Ohio. It indicates her birth year as 1881. Martha and her family were living in Chauncey at the time of her brother Elmer's death in 1951.

In her marriage certificate, Matha refers to her parents as George Lock and Cynthia Smith. It also indicates that neither her not Elroy were previously married. Elroy was a coal miner. Elroy was living in Longstruth, OH and Martha was living in Monday, OH at the time they got married.
