The following obit appeared for Carl: CARL LOCKE NELSONVILLE - Carl Leroy Locke, 56, of Nelsonville, died Friday afternoon at his residence of carbon monoxide poisoning. Born in Haydenville, son of the late Elmer and Katie Foit Locke, he was an employee of the Logan Clay Products Co., a Worl War II Air Force veteran and served two years in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Nelsonville Weslyan Church. He is survived by two brothers, Ervin (Sloppy) and Harold (Pat) Locke, both of Nelsonville; one sister Frances (Sis) Guess of Nelsonville; brother and sister-in laws; and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma (Skivers) Locke, who died March 26 and by a brother Harry. Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson-Souers Funeral Home wih the Rev. William Mechem officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery. |

The following obit appeared for Norma: NORMA LOCKE NELSONVILLE - Norma Jean Locke, 52, of Nelsonville, Route 2, died Wednesday afternoon at Holzer Medical Center, after an extended illness. Born in Nelsonville, she a daughter of the late Eugene and Delphia White Skivers. A lifelong resident of Nelsonville, she was a 25-year employee of the People's Bank and a 1945 graduate of Nelsonville High School. Surviving are her husband Carl, a brother Mervin Skivers of Caron Hill; four sisters, Helen Nicholson and Mrs. Harlen (Dauneda)Kasler of Chauncey, Mrs. Fred (Bernice) Ferrell of Nelsonville and Donna Lee Skivers of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents and two bothers, Dale and Clarence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson-Souers Funeral Home with the Rev. William Merchem officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. |
