From "Hartford Jews 1659-1970"Born in Pinsk, Russia in 1870, settled in Hartford in 1890 and with Samuel Glotzer he established the "New England Furriers" in 1896.They brought over from Pinsk, a center of the fur trade, a number of relatives and friends among whom were expert furriers whom they employed and who later opened their own establishments and thur made Hartford a center of the fur industry.He was one of the founders of the Fur Guild of Hartford. He was one of the original members of the Hartford B'nai Zion Society, and a charter member of the Emanuel Synagogue.
