Notes for Meier Schalamuk:
Meier Schalamuk was born in Belarus in 1856.In his youth, he was a locksmith for the Czar, and he rented lands to be worked.Married to Mariasche Gelula , he came to the country with the six children they had by 1895.In Entre Rios he dedicated himself to agriculture.He passed away at the age of 60 on Oct. 22, 1916.
405 people, among whom were the Gelula and Schalamuk families, left Grodno for the port of Libau in Estonia.
On May 12, 1895, they boarded a steamboat, "Erik" to the port of Hamburg.From Hamburg, by steamboat "Bismark" they arrived at the port of Buenos Aires on June 22, 1895 after a voyage of more than 40 days.

He rests in the Colonia Carmel cemetery across from the neighborhood ofEng. Miguel Sajaroff, ex Capilla, passing the village of Domínguez on the way to Villa Elisa,in the Entre Rios Province of the Republic of Argentina.
