Joy Logan Burkhart's American Family

I have been researching my family for more years than I'd like to admit! When I was 14, I was my Dad's scribe when we'd go to the library. I guess that's when the bug bit! We've both tried to get past our Logan brick wall - John Logan, b. 1801, Ireland d. 1878, Johnson Co., Indiana - FOREVER, it seems. The family Bible only lists John's birthplace as Ireland, nothing else. yDNA testing shows we are closely related to General John A. Logan of Illinois (Civil War), and Benjamin Logan of Kentucky (Pioneer). Our John came to Shelby Co., Kentucky sometime before 1829, the year he married Paulina Sturgeon. Ben Logan had lived in Shelby Co., Kentucky at the time of his death in 1802. If you have any information on my John Logan, please contact me! Thanks and God Bless!
