Logan-Vallad Family Tree

Updated May 27, 2011

This family tree combines information on both my parents' families. My father's name was Logan and other families associated with this family are Busby, Emmingham, Maguire, and Vose. The Logans arrived in the American Colonies from Northern Ireland in the mid to late 1700's and eventually settled in New Hampshire. From New Hampshire, the family moved to Truro, Nova Scotia and were one of several Grantee families to settle the area.
The family remained in Nova Scotia until the 1880s when my father's grandfather moved to Manitoba and then into the United States. I have found them and their associated families in North Dakota, New York, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Washington and Idaho.
My mother's maiden name was Vallad. Names associated with her family include Marcot, Kelly, Virginia, Luhr and Letterer. The ancestors of my mother's family arrived in French Canada circa 1660. My mother's branch of the family had moved to Oswego, New York circa 1845. The Vallads, and their associated families, have lived in New York, Michigan, Washington, Illinois and Idaho. I am happy to share and compare any information.
