Jordan and Stanchfield Family of Minnesota

Our Jordan lineage has been traced back to William Jordan b. abt 1829 possibly in County Cork or Mayo, Ireland. He moved to Ontario, Maryborough Township, Arthur, Canada and married abt 1850, Rosanna Hebner 1833-1899. They divorced and we have no further information on William. Family stories say he may have moved to the United States (Texas or Tennessee)and had one or two more sons. Further research in Ontario has turned up other Jordan families who were relatives, but as of yet, no direct connections have been established.

Our Hebner ancestors trace back to the Schell's and Petrie's of Mohawk Valley, New York during the Revolutionary War, and their coming to this country during the Paletine Immigration.

Our Stinchfield/Stanchfield ancestors begin with John Stenchfield/Stinchfield 1715-1783 and his wife Elisabeth Burns from England, Mass,and Maine. Our John Roscoe Stanchfield (who moved to Iowa and Minnesota) married Lorena Morgan, and those two lines take us back to three Pilgrims of the Mayflower and also to the Saxon Monarchs.
