Welcome to our home page.We are reserching both sides of our families and hope you can help with the family names. We are looking for ancestors of WILLIAM LOMAS (b 1801, London)who married ELIZABETH SHORT (b 1805, London). Their son JOSEPH LOMAS came to N.Z. and married KATE BECKETT (b 2nd April 1843, London). Kate's parents were WILLIAM BECKETT (b <1810, Cambridge) and CATHARINE BROOKS (b <1814, Cambridge). There were three other children in the family, William (b<1836), Robert (b<1838), and Claire (<1840). Catharine and William were married on 13th April 1835 at St. Andrew The Less, Cambridge, England. Also looking for ancestors and famlies of ARCHIBALD LEITCH who married MARGARET MCNAUGHT on 31st December 1880 in Greenoch East. They were both from Scotland. Archibald was married twice and had 12 children. Margaret was his first wife. Their son DUNCAN McDONALD LEITCH was born in 1902 and came to N.Z. in the 1920's. Two brothers went to Canada and one of these (? John)died in the First World War. From Australia we are looking for family and ancestors of JAMES RAY who married MACEY NORMAN. They lived in Bowral and had three children John, Macey(FROST),and SYDNEY ROBERT RAY (b 6th June 1876) who came to N.Z. about 1900. In Ireland we are looking for the families of ANDREW McMAHON from Limerick who married JANE REID of Belfast. Andrew was a Colour Sergeant in the British Army in India and they came to N.Z.in 1849. EDMOND WALSH married ANNIE HARRISON in Ireland and their daughter KATHLEEN WALSH (b 1860,Bodyke,Co.Clare) came to N.Z. with her brother Michael. At least two other sisters came to N.Z. Other names are EDWIN WILLIAM JAGGAR (b 1884, Auckland N.Z.) who married MABEL LOUISA LINGARD (b 1876, Dunedin N.Z.). Edwin's parents were EDWIN HUNT JAGGAR (b 1850) and SARAH BARRIS (b 1850) Mabel's parents were JOHN LINGARD (b 1852, Essex, England) and LOUISA WESTLAKE (b 1855, Exeter, England).
