I've been researching my family members for the past three years and am amazed at the information I've been able to find. My father was Howard Witt, son of John Wesley Witt and Mary Doss. My mother was Rossie Mae Robbins, daughter of Mack Robbins and Eunice Rutherford. John Wesley Witt's mother was Eliza Louisa Caudill and she was married to John Wesley Parker. I was able to trace Eliza's family back to Revolutionary War soldier James Caudill, Jr. I was accepted as a member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) in October of 1998, through this patriot. On April 28, 2000 my supplemental application on Edward Smith/Smyth was verified. I have sent in my paper work for approval on William Doss and Micajah Pennington. Other Revolutionary War patriots in my line are John Patrick Kelly, Alexander Orr, and Thomas Ely. I still have work to do on these. I think I have enough information on Orr and Ely, but I need help with John Patrick Kelly. There are several John Kellys that served in the Revolutionary War and I do not know which one I connect with. I have information that my John Parick was married to Annie or Nancy Hunter and his father was Lawrence Kelly. Several of the Witt's were very active in the Revolutionary War, but my direct descendant was not one of them. I also suspect that my Rutherford and Robbins ancestors were active in the Revolutionary War, but have not been able to trace them back that far. Would enjoy hearing from anyone with further information on any of my ancestors.
