James Andrew McGee (son of James K Polk McGee and Mary Elizbeth (Betty) Latimer) was born June 27, 1863 in Little Richland Creek, Humphrey Co., Tn, and died January 07, 1947 in Humphrey Co. Tn.. He married (1) Mary Elizabeth Boon on January 07, 1889 in Humphreys Co., Tn.. He married (2) Tennessee Porter Summers on December 02, 1891 in Humphreys Co., Tn., daughter of James Franklin Summers and Tennessee Porter Outlaw. He married (3) Harriet Summers Fortner on Abt. 1903 in Humphreys Co., Tn.. He married (4) Daisy Ann Wright on Aft. July 1906 in Humphreys Co., Tn..

Notes for James Andrew McGee:
On June 20, 1846 James's grandfather Claborn McGee bought 320 acres on Little Richland Creek, begining at a Red Oak on top of a ridge on the south side of Little Richland Creek. Claborn died in 1847 and the land was left to his wife Margaret E. Carnell McGee. This land is at least part of the land bought by James Andrew McGee from the heirs of his uncle Andrew Jackson McGee, his fathers brother, on October 21, 1904 This is where James raised his family and lived out his life. When the TVA flooded part of the land in the early 1900's he moved the graves of his family from the land to be flooded to a hill top beside his home. Called McGee Cemetery.

He was a member of the Union Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Little Richland Creek. Sunday School record Book April 10 1927 - Sept 9, 1928, both J.A. and Walter McGee were in Class NO 1. The other members of his family are listed in other classes.

James Andrew McGee's funeral services were held at the Ellis Grove Methodist Church in Humphreys Co., Tn. He died after a brief illness on Jan 10, 1947, he was 82 yrs old. Rev Farris F. Moore of the Waverly Methodist Church conducted the service. Burial was in McGee Cemetery on Little Richland Rd. Garland Hensley funeral directors were in charge of burial.
