I am researching The McCauley family from Aranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland, They came to Beaver Island, Michigan in the 1860's. The 5 McCauley brothers, CROOKED CONN, SLIM JIM, LONG JOHN, HUMPY PADDY & OLD OWEN, plus two sisters CATHERINE & HANNAH. Hannah married BIG OWEN GALLAGHER. Owen married CATHERINE GALLAGHER on July 15, 1867. By 1900 she had left Owen and was living in MANISTIQUE, Michigan with 11 of her 14 children with her. HUGH, JOHN, CORNEILIEUS (who fought in WW1 for Canada), HANNAH, JOSEPH CONN, ANN, FRANCIS, ELLEN, CATHERINE & PATRICK. If you know anything, or are one of the lost McCauley's PLEASE contact me! |
