LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF TAVNER MARSH

STATE OF GEORGIA I, Tavner Marsh of said State and County, knowing myself
and family the uncertainty of human life, deem it right and proper both as
respect my self and family that I should make a disposition of the property
with which a kind Provident has blessed me, I therefore make this my Last
Will and Testament, hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me.

ITEM FIRST I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid by my Executor
herein after named without delay.

ITEM SECOND I give and bequeath to my wife, Prudence Marsh, during her
natural life in widowhood sixty acres of lot of land one hundred and thirty
two in the Third District of Said County, to be laid off so as to include all
the houses south of the road running by my dwelling, a man, and Isabella, a
woman, all my household and kitchen furniture except such as hereinafter
disposed of, one horse bridle and saddle worth one hundred dollars, one cow
and calf worth ten dollars, and one sow and pig worth five dollars.

ITEM THIRD I give and bequeath to my son, Needham Marsh, as a special gift
(in consequence of special favors) one hundred dollars.

ITEM FOURTH I give and bequeath to my son, Thomas Tavanor Marsh, a bedstead,
bed and furniture, one cow and calf, one sow and pigs.

ITEM FIFTH I give to my daughter, Frances Marion Garner, one sow and pigs.

ITEM SIXTH I have given my son, John J. Marsh, one negro man, which I have
valued at six hundred dollars; I have given my son, Needom, Jones Marsh,
Joshua Marsh , each five hundred dollars. I hold three notes on my son,
Alfred H. Marsh, the principal being three hundred and twenty five dollars
for which I charge no interest. I therefore, give my son, Alfred, six
hundred dollars, the aforesaid three hundred and twenty five dollars to be
included, I give my sons Needom, Jones and Joshua one hundred dollars each.
I give my son, Thomas Tavana, six hundred dollars. I give my daughters,
Aline(Adeline) Garner and Frances Marion Garner each six hundred dollars in
order to make them even with my son, John J. Marsh.

ITEM SEVENTH I have lent my daughter, Aline Garner, a negro girl named Aggy
and I have lent my daughter, Frances Marion Garner, a negro girl named Jane.
Both negroes are to be returned to my Executor if not previously returned to
myself.

ITEM EIGHTH I desire and direct that all my estate both real and personal
and all that I may hereinafter acquire (not herein otherwise disposed of) be
sold by my Executor, hereinafter named and appointed and that the money
arising therefrom be equally divided amongst all my children.

ITEM NINTH After the death or marriage of my wife, whichever may take place
first, I desire that all the property given to my wife in Item Second, both
real and personal, be sold and equally divided amongst all my children.

ITEM TENTH I hereby constitute and appoint my worthy friend, John W.
Shepherd of Merriweather County, Georgia, my Executor of this, my Last Will
and Testament.

This June 13th, 1854.

and Testament in the presence of us, the subscribing witnesses, who
subscribed the same in the presence of the Testator at his special instance
and request and in the presence of each other this June 13th, 1864.
