Isaac Closson aged 87 years 9 months and 4 days died at his home in Milford Sunday morning Sept. 21, 1924 at nine o'clock of chronic rheumatism following his recent illness of a few weeks. Mr. Closson was born in Ashland, Ohio Dec. 17, 1836 and as a young man came to Indiana and located in Milford where he learned the blacksmith trade which he followed his entire active life.
On Jan 30, 1858 he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Wright and to this union were born seven children, three having passed the Great Beyond and four surviving the deceased. In December, 1861 he answered the call of his country, leaving a wife and two small children and enlisted in Company B, 48th regiment Indiana Infantry. In 1864 he reenlisted, serving the entire time of the civil war. Dec. 8, 1869 he united with the Christian church and proved a faithful member. He was also a member of the Milford band, then first organized and known as the Milford Silver Band. Surviving the deceased are three daughters, Mrs. Alice Chamberlain, Battle Creek, MI., Mrs. Daisy Unrue and Mrs Nellie Wood of Milford. and one son Edward Closson of Milford. Eighteen grandchildren also survive. The funeral service was held at the Christian church, Tuesday Afternoon at 2 o"clock, the service being conducted by Rev. J. W. Brower. Burial was made in the Milford cemetery.

Golden Wedding. clipping (newspaper and date unkown) The home of Mr. Mrs I. Closson on Higbere street was the scene of an enjoyable gathering last Saturday it being the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. Mrs. I. Closson. the affair was for the most part a family gathering but one of unusual pleasant features. Following a bountiful dinner a happy social time was enjoyed with phonograph music. The guests of honor were the recipient of two goodly gold pieces of money, the Rev. McCrea, made the presentation speech. Mrs Anna McDonald and her daughter, Jessie gave Mrs Closson a beautiful gold pin the children were all present. namely: Ed Closson, Mrs. Nellie Schmech, Mrs Alice Chamberlain and son of Battle Creek, MI, Mrs Rose Magennis and son of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs Daisy Unrue of Syracuse, IND. the guests from abroad were Mrs. Leidde McDonald of Shipshewana, In., Mr. Mrs. George Michel, and Mr and Mrs Madison Closson of Ashland Ohio. There were about 30 in number and all had a splendid time all wishing them many happy returns of the day.
