Hi, there! Thank you for stopping by to check out my Oslage lineage, which is centralized in Southwestern Indiana. My direct line began with Heinrich Rudolph Jacob Oslage, who immigrated to the United States in 1843 from Lengerich, Prussia, Germany. On December 17, 1848, Jacob (as he was known) married Dorcas Clark in Dearborn County, Indiana. They had three sons: George H., Francis Marion, and Rudolph Frederick W. Oslage. I have been able to track George to Arkansas. Francis died in October 1875 and is buried with his cousins in OakHill Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana. I am descended from Jacob and Dorcas' youngest son, Rudolph. On April 23, 1885, Rudolph (he was known as Fred within our family) married Ella Vandiver, daughter of Indiana Walker & Harvey Vandiver. They settled in Huntingburg, Dubois County, Indiana and had three sons: William Edcher, Ora Edward, and Rudolph Oslage. William & Ora both died before they were two years old. My great-grandfather, Rudolph Oslage (a.k.a, Rufus) was born on May 5, 1889 in Huntingburg. On March 18, 1914, he married my great-grandmother, Laura Viola Rader. She was the daughter of Conrad Rader & Elizabeth Kruse of Gibson County, Indiana. Rufus & Laura had seven children. Their 3rd oldest child, Charlotte Marie Oslage, was my grandmother.

I have run into several stumbling blocks in the five years I have been doing research on this family full time, but they are finally starting to fall down brick by brick. I wish to thank everyone for helping me in this research. Most of my sources are secondary, coming from interviews within the family, family bibles, or documents that have been passed down from generation to generation. Ancestry and Heritage Quest have aided me in this search. I also give thanks to the Browning family of Evansville, Indiana - owners and operators of Browning Funeral Home. They have contributed a lot to this community for genealogy and were it not for them, I would not have even found a 1/4 of what I have. A link to their site is listed below.

The only request I have is that if you need information from my page, please contact me first and request permission. You must also give me the credit when posting it to your own page. I have spent an awful lot of time, effort, and money into this "hobby" of mine and not doing so would be disrespectful. Thank you again for coming by.
