We have taken up the challenge of tracing our roots. I am looking for Loraas's from Saskatchewan, Canada, up to Norway through South Dakota, to a place called Loraasaasen (Loraas hill), a collection of about 5 farms just outside Trondheim, Norway. Denise is looking for information on James Cummins who came from Dublin, Ireland, circa 1880, at age 12 to Canada. He settled in British Columbia where he had 8 children: Kathleen, Robert Henry, John, May, James, Herbert Duncan, and twins Doris and Dorothy. Also seeking info on James Cronk(ite) from Middlesex England who fought in the Boer war. He married Alice Johnson in South Africa where they had one daughter Bessie. Soon after the family emmigrated to Canada and settled in British Columbia, they had 5 more children: James, Percy, Lillian Rose, Elsie, and George. Ps dont forget the Loraas family reunion Calgary Alberta 1-3 Aug 2003 |
