Thomas Roberts and Ann Rule, married 30 March 1820, in Camborne Parish, Cornwall. Settled in Dodgeville, Wisconsin in 1846. Their children who survived, all born in Cornwall were: John b: 1821, Thomas b:1825, Jane Rule b: 1826, Alfred b: 1829, Anne b: 1833, James, b: 1835.John, young Thomas, Alfred and James all went to the gold rush. John went first and urged the others to come. They were all there by 1852. Young Thomas married Jane Reynolds in Cornwall before he went to the gold rush. They had two children, born in Cornwall. They both died in Cornwall. She immigrated in 1857. They stayed in California, settling in Stanislaus County for the remainder of their lives. They died within a month of each other in 1899.James went back to Dodgeville, married Elizabeth Perkins and raised his family there.Alfred married Mary Anne James, moved to Neosho Rapids, Kansas, had seven children who survived and later moved to Emporia, Kansas. He died there in 1896. |
