Loshonkohls, Normans, Rolls' and Murdochs a True Melting PotUpdated September 5, 2000 | When an Irish, Scottish, Native American girl marries an English, German boy, the results are ...... beautiful children?Yeah, that and a desire to have a personal relationship with all the peoples of the past. Our research has yielded quite a find, mostly just handwritten pages, some in pencil, some in ink, a few typewritten, with names, dates and sparse information about family members. My grandfather, for example, had such a list in his belongings, written in pencil, telling even about his own grandparents. And a search of phone listings found a family geneologist in Nebraska who had traced the family waaaaaay back. The most fun, tho, has been in the pondering over the lives and deaths of these people.More than just names, they each have a story, each is a mystery, each a puzzle. As I search for clues to tell me what kinds of lives they lived, and why they left this world so young, many of them never reached twenty-five, I feel a kinship with them I didn't think possible. As if we are acquainted, they want me to know them, their lives, and not forget them. That's why I'm doing this, so they will not be only names on a sheet of paper. When I meet them again in the HereAfter, I hope to be recognized, and to know them...so call me a fanatic... If you find that we are remotely related, please feel free to share what you have, and take what I have, I am grateful that you are even interested |
