Updated September 6, 2000Currently working on the Ware surnames. I have scanned the book "The English Colony of Lee County, Iowa" that was written by my Great Uncle, J. Berry Ware. This book tells the story of the 94 English settlers who came to Lee County, Iowa in 1845 by chartered ship. My Great Great Grandfather, James Ware, from Yorkshire England was among the settlers.Anyone out there who has ancestors from this colony or is otherwise interested may have a copy of this book by paying a modest fee to cover the cost of printing plus postage. Just e-mail me and the book will be sent when the $15 fee is received. |
