Micael Sills182 was born 19 Feb 1735 in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, and died 19 Feb 1813 in Bedford County, PA. He married Barbara Rhoades on 1766 in Bedford County, PA, daughter of Heinrich Henry Rhoads and Katrina Rhinehart.
Notes for Micael Sills: Michael came to America in 1766. His passage was paid for by his brother George Sill who had come over in 1760 as an indentured servant to John Woods. Michael served in the Revolutionary War as a private in Capt. Harris' company of Chester Co, PA. Michael died in 1814 and was burried on Mattas Farmyard, Bedford Twp, Bedford Co, PA. After Michael's death, Barbara moved with most of the children to Montgomery County, Ohio, where she died some time after.
Some info on George and Michael Sill is from a newsletter of the Celle Faminly Association located at the Pioneer library in Bedford County, PA, of family records of Thomas C. Imler, historian of Bedford county who died in 1985.
Other note: I also have a german ancestor who had the name Sills in America. We have found that his real name was Süss.
