| I am currently researching my LOWE & STAPLEE (or Stapley) ancestors. So far I have managed to get back to my great-great-great-grandfather, ROBERT LOWE. He was born in October, 1796, in Northamptonshire, England. He married my g.g.g.grandmother, who's name was MARY STAPLEE (or Stapley), born in 1792, in Barholm, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England. They had ten children; names of the first five are unknown; (6)MARY, born, Eng. (7)JANE AMY, born: Eng. Jan. 05, 1826 (8)ROBERT, born: Eng. 1836 (9)THOMAS, born: Eng. 1838 (10)ESTHER, born: Eng. 1840 In 1851 they arrived, with their youngest five children, in the Town of Barrie, Vespra Twp., Simcoe County. In 1853 they settled & started farming in the Shanty Bay area of Oro Twp., Simcoe Co. Simcoe county was in Upper Canada, BNA (Currently Ontario, Canada). Any information on this family will be appreciated. |
