She was born Abt. 1815 (Source: Based on 1850 San Augustine Co, TX census.), and died Bet. 1850 - 1858 in San Augustine Co, TX. He married (3) Josephine Hightower 04 February 1858 in Nacogdoches Co, TX (Source: From "Marriage Records of Nacogdoches Co, TX 1824-81" compiled by Pauline Shirley Murrie - 1968, pg 46.). She was born February 1835 in Arkansas (Source: Confederate Widow's Pension File #23336, pg 20.), and died Bet. 1902 - 1903 (Source: Orange Lowery.).

Notes for Thomas Lowery:
1) Little is know of Thomas's first wife. Two references list her as Sarah. Found in "The People of Nacogdoches County in the Civil War (Carolyn Ericson - 1980, Pineywood Printing, pg 145) is a listing of Thomas and Sarah LOWERY as the parents of John Lowery. Carolyn Ericson's records contain a family group sheet prepared by Elaine Laney, descendant of Thomas J. LOWERY, naming Sarah Parker as the wife of Thomas LOWERY.

2) Morman microfisc files of Georgia pg 3,525, have a Thomas Lurry married Sarah Parker, in January 1831, in Newton Co, GA (Information provided by R.L. Lowry).

3) Found in the LDS Microfishe files for GEORGIA pg3525. Marriage of Thomas Lurry and Sarah Parker on Jan 1831 in Newton Co, GA. Batch film #8319409, serial sheet 30. 1) Josephine is buried beside her third husband in the Smyrna Cemeter (Strip;ing) in Nacogdoches Co, TX. Orange Lowery recalled "Aunt Josephine" always wore a large white bonnet with a wide brim. She had lost an eye on the spindle of a spinning wheel and wore the bonnet to shield the disfiguration.
