Lowery, (1000) Researcher's deductions, Based on 1870 census William was in his son's household but gone from the 1880.). He married Mary ??? Bef. 1820 in Chester Co, SC (Source: Johnny L. Lowery, (1000) Researcher's deductions, Based on 1820 census. I am going on the assumption that this is the William I am looking for based on later census.). She was born Bet. 1796 - 1800 in South Carolina (Source: (501) 1860 Chester Co, SC census, page 21.), and died Aft. 1860 (Source: Johnny L. Lowery, (1000) Researcher's deductions, Based on 1860 and 1870 census. Mary was in her husband's household in 1860 but missing from 1870 census for her son, where her husband was now living.).

Notes for William Otis:
1) 1820 Chester Co, SC Census -- This could be Thomas Harrison OTIS's father.

William OTIS -- 1 male 18-26 / 1 female 16-26. This fits in with the information that I have dug up from the later censuses. See below.

2) 1830 Chester Co, SC Census -- Was not able to find a William OTIS in this census index. When I have more time I will look through the microfilm of Chester Co.

3) 1840 Chester Co, SC Census -- This could be the William OTIS father to Thomas Harrison OTIS.

William OTIS -- 1 m under 5, 1 m 5-10, 1 m 15-20, 1 m 40-50 / 2 f 5-10, 1 f 10-15, 1 f 15-20, 1 f 40-50. William fits into this time frame. There may have been one more girl based on this census and the next. In the next census there is only three girls and this census show 4. One may have died or married.

4) 1850 Chester Co, SC Census -- This is the first census that shows names. There is a Thomas H. OTIS.
