The Descendents of Isaiah & Emma Roper of Alabama

Isaiah Roper was born in 1850 in Butler County, Alabama in the farming community of Daisey. Census records indicate that he and Emma Davis were married around 1870. They raised 14 children on a farm they owned.

Scattered across this country are the descendents of Isaiah and Emma. The names of the trunk offspring are: Isaiah, Jr., Oliver, Lewis, Clara, Lucy, Walter, John, Cephus,Lula,Early, Willie, Charles, Cyla, Yancey.

I am Laura Roper Pinkston Lowe. I am the oldest child of Yancey and Lorenzia Mastin Roper. My daddy told me many stories about the family and often we would visit the land once owned by Isaiah. I still visit Alabama and travel back into the woods on a dirt road to visit the final resting place of so many of the Roper clan.
