Gottlieb Schauer, son of Herman Schauer and Wilhelmina Faedtke, was born in Bieslof, Germany, November 11, 1857. He had a sister named Augusta (Schauer) Ziehm, but do not know the names of any other siblings. We would like information from others doing their family tree regarding this possibility. Gottlieb married Bertha Emilie Louise Pobanz, in Chicago, Illinois, on February 15th, 1880. At the time, Bertha was 18 years old. Her sister was Auguste Wilhelmine Pobanz Nickel,(aka Minnie and Tante Mina by relatives) married to Peter Nickel. Her brother was Adolf Albert Pobanz, married to Ida Kading. Bertha and Gottlieb's marriage license spells it as Pobantz, but we have seen alternate spellings of Poblantz, Pobenz, Pobanz.

We are interested in the family of Arthur Schauer. He married Margarethe Bertha Meier in Chicago. We have no information on her after that. He passed away at 30 of Tuberculosis on 28 Feb 1917. He had 2 sons, William Schauer, born 14 Jun 1910, Chicago, died 25 May 1919, of drowning, in Lockport, Will Co., IL: and Arthur Johann Bernhard Schauer, born 10 Jun 1913, died 24 Dec 1979, Blue Island, Cook Co., IL.
