THE VENEY'S
An African-American Family With Roots in Colonial Virginia.

We are descendants of Humphrey Veney (b. 1782) and Milly Rich (b.1787).

Our historical family home is Richmond County,

Other family names include: RICH and THOMPSON.

We are anxious to learn as much as possible about our family. If you have a connection to the names we list here. Please contact us through our e-mail address.

Our National Veney Family Reunion Society was organized in 1992. This organization sponsors yearly reunion events.

OUR RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

The Society has formed national research group (1/98). We are currently researching in a number of areas including:

The descendants of David Veney, Sr who was born in
Richmond County, Va in 1814;.

The Veney family's military history; and

The Veney family's Native American connection.
