| Researching my family from the Chicago Area. Names of immediate family members include McCarthy, Ludeke, Radford, Young, Wohlford, Gauger, Geiersbach and Bunfill (Bunfield). The Ludeke, Wohlford, Geiersbach and Gauger families came from Germany and settled in the Glen Ellyn, DuPage County area in Illinois. The Youngs came from Germany and the McCarthy and Radford families came from Ireland and England, respectively. There is some connection to the Lemont area, possibly from Annie B. Young (1841-1908) who was born in Illinois to Irish immigrant parents. I have been unable to find her maiden name but is may have been Griffin. Both Daniel and Annie were buried in Cass Cemetery according to their death certificates. However, their graves cannot be found. The Bunfields came from Pennsylvania and settled in Greene Co. Il |
