9. JERRY MICHAEL⁴ LUOMA (HERBERT EDWIN³, JOHAN HJALMAR², JOHN¹) was born July 14, 1949 in Denver, Colorado. He married JUDITH MAY CARSTENS November 01, 1969 in Salida, Colorado, daughter of ARNOLD CARSTENS and JESSIE LOW.

Notes for JERRY MICHAEL LUOMA:
Jerry loved working with animals of all kinds. He worked with several police departments, working with drug dogs and their support programs. He attended U.T.S.A. over several years, all working toward his degree in criminal justice. His second love was photography. His mother (Doris Luoma) helped him more than he could ever repay. Without her help, Jerry would not be able to have the type of photography equipment he had.

Judy worked all her life with the telephone company. First with Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Salida, Colorado. Then she transfer to the Colorado Springs, Colorado office in March 1971. This took place while she was living at Fort Carson, Colorado with her husband. She also gave birth to Jeff, while at Fort Carson, Colorado. She then traveled to Japan with Jerry in January 1974. Her tour was short, due to the fact Jerry was transfered to Fort San Houston, in San Antonio, Texas. Although she had a Teaching Degree from Adams State College, in Alamosa, Colorado, Judy never went with this career. In June 1974, she went to work with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio, Texas. As of October 1996, she is still with them and hopes to retire within the next two to three years. Maybe, then she will get to teach then..

Jeffrey grew up in a military family and due to this fact, traveled the world with his family. He was born in Fort Carson, Colorado (Colorado Springs, Colorado). He traveled to Okinawa, Japan in January 1974. From here, he went to Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School on May 31, 1991. He attended Mount Cavelry Lutheran Church, where he was also confirmed. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp., in February 1992. Since then, he has traveled to Okinawaa, Japan, as well. As of October 1996, he is still in doing great.

Jessica is a tall girl for her age, but full of life. She was born at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. At 6:11PM on Friday the 3rd of February, 1984. She weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. As of October 1996, Jessica is attending karate classes and doing great in school. And still growing!
