Notes for Mary Berthie Middleton:
I remember visiting Aunt Mary in the two story house on the farm where she and Charlie lived. She was confined to a wheelchair and lived on the main floor of the house. She was a tiny petite woman. There was a rocking horse that had belonged to her son that had a real horse hair tail and mane.In the upstairs bedrooms were bedroom sets where the headboards went way up the wall. The whole house was antique furniture. She had promised both my sister and I sets of silver that had belonged to our family. We should have taken them when she want us to.Her nephew became concerned that she would leave some of the farm to my father so he had her ruled incompetent and moved her to a nursing home in Gothenburg with strict instructions that we not be allowed to visit. My father did not want to cause any trouble and so he let Sumner Middleton do as he wanted.Sumner inherited the land and then ended up losing the farm.
