Her father was a Civil War soldier who died soon after the war, of wounds received in service, leaving widow with six children, the youngest nine months old. She raised these children on small river-bottom farm. Mollie was teacher of Willing Workers Class of Mansfield Sunday School as long as her health permitted during pastorate of J.E. Evans. Rev. Evans preached both Rob and Mollie's funeral sermons. At hers Irene Buchan and Mrs. Ray sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Asleep in Jesus". Because of the serious illness of her husband, weeks in Kankakee State Hospital because of the effects of arteriosclerosis.
