Record of the Clapp Family in America. . . . You have Thomas (my Thomas1, your Thomas 4) as the son of Nicholas3, Richard 2, William 1. Clapp Memorial has him as the son of Richard, and cousin of Roger and Edward. The name of the father of Roger and Edward, brother of Richard, is unknown. [or, in 1876, was unknown to this author!] Richard married Prudence (found on internet; no source.). Clapp Memorial does not list his wife's name."
