He married (1) MARY SNOW²¹⁴ April 20, 1749 in Rochester, MA²¹⁵, daughter of PRENCE SNOW and MARY STURTEVANT. She was born October 30, 1729 in Rochester, MA²¹⁵, and died Bet. 1752 - 1755 in prob: Ware, MA²¹⁵. He married (2) JERUSHA DAVIS June 8, 1758 in Brookfield, MA²¹⁵. She was born February 15, 1734/35 in Brookfield, MA^216,²¹⁷, and died October 6, 1798 in Ware, MA^218,²¹⁹.

HIST: Sherman information of Jeff Linscott 7/9/94 p27 (Sherman 10): " Samuel Sherman's father, Samuel, owned much property with his brother John . Dying when Samuel was an infant, the latter inherited his rights an d later appeared with his uncle John in settling the property. In 175 2, he moved to Ware (Ware River Parish), Ma., where he became a subst antial citizen, his name appearing constantly in the town meetings un til after the War.
