"Adam moved to Berwick Pa where he worked in the American Car & Foundry Co, until a near fatal work injury the caused loss of an eye. The injury happened one week before he was to try out for the Pittsburg Pirates baseball team. He later moved to Lairdsville Pa where he opened a hotel and resturant business. Upon retirement he sold business but remained near by Unityville, Pa. The hotel still retains original name "The Lairdsville Hotel. "
