HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF MARATHON,.......A few years previous to the arrival of Mr. Brink here a family by the name of Alford had settled about three-fourths of a mile south, on the State?s lot, and some years after sold out to Daniel Huntley, a son of Deacon William Huntley, who resided for several years on the next farm south.....................Deacon Huntley, another prominent pioneer, came into the valley at an early day and located about a mile south of the village, where he worked at blacksmithing for a time. His son John was also a blacksmith
