Notes for Heathann Elizabeth Dean:
Heathann Elizabeth Dean died as a result of giving birth to her first child, Hethy Elbert Clements. She is buried near her parents William F. Dean and Louisa Celey Fincher at Flint Hill Methodist Church just south of Alexander City, Al. William and Louisa Dean helped found the original church on this site that burned some years age and was replaced. Descendants still attend this church and Dean Road near Alexander City is named for this family. The Deans were pioneers to this area arriving from Upson County, Ga. shortly after the Creek Indians were removed. It is said that William tore down Creek Indian buildings to cultivate his land.
When your compiler found the burial site of her great grandmother Hethyann (or Heathann), she
secured a granite marker and placed it in 1996 with the assistance of relatives, Reuben Matt Thomaston,
Seaborn Adamson, and J. C. Dean. Matt Thomaston and Seaborn Adamson both died before 1999.
New tombstones were also placed on the graves of Hethyann Elizabeth Dean Clements' parents,
William and Celey Louisa Fincher Dean.
Jacob remarried and is found in Cleburne County, Al. on the 1880 Cleburne County,
Al. census T9 Roll 8, Vol. 6, E.D. 44, Sh4, Line 36 Beat #7, Bells Hill
