Notes for Thomas Harrell:
The information on Richard is rather sketchy.
It is assumed he died in Augusta Co., Va. about 1751. Some think he was born in Nansemond Co., Va. around 1700. The 1717 land owner records for Nansemond Co. lists the following Harrell's: Francis, Adam, John, Richard. These Harrell's are believed to be the offspring of Thomas Harrold (listed in the 1704 tax list for Nansemond Co., Va.) and John Harrold listed in the Northampton Co. Va. records of 1655. Tradition and some records indicate that three brothers came to America from either Scotland or England about 1655 to 1664. Some settled in Virginia and some in North Carolina.

The following are court documents found with Thomas Harrell and other Harrells listed. Go to Edit, Find, type in Harrell to find the Harrell name. You will also find the names of some of the Duke family, of Teresa Duke wife of John Webb.
