| I am currently researching a branch of my father's family who may have lived around Aiken, South Carolina in the 1850s, and later moved to Bartow County, Georgia. Family stories tell that D. W. Johnson died in Aiken after purchasing the "homestead" in Georgia in the summer, but his widow Elizabeth A. Cook,(B.4/14/1830, D. 1/18/1911) and five children moved anyway with some relatives of hers from her previous marriage (Bartons). |
