Ercel H. Mabe, 103, of London, died Thursday, July 18, 1996 at 7:50 a.m. in Plain City.
Bom May 27, 1893 in Madison County, she was the daughter of Albert and Anna (Laird) Hume.
She was a member of the London First United Methodist Church, the Happy Hour Needle Club, the Dinner Bridge Club and the Matinee Bridge Club.
Survived by daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Ed Garrett of London, Lora J. Gunsaulies of London; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Martha Mabe of London.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond M. Mabe; sons Raymond D. Mabe, Robert H. Mabe; brothers, James Hume and Wilbur Hume; sisters, Erma Warner and Stella Hume.
The family invites friends to call at the RADER-LYNCH AND DODDS FUNERAL HOME, London, from 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 19 where funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Clarence Hensel officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Mahe's memory may be made to London First United Methodist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

He was said to have to been born in Missouri, but no census record, or anything else, suggest he was. Only a story told by family members. Calvary used to walk from Ousley's Gap, across what is now Hash Ridge, to Barboursville going to school.
