MABE, James Cecil, "J.C.," 70, of Marion, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 in Saint Peter's Hospital in Albany, New York. Mr. Mabe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion in Albany, New York. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Albany for many years. Mr. Mabe is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Martin of Roanoke, Virginia, Bertha Reeves of Marion, Virginia, and Helen Coley of Wytheville, Virginia

James Cecil "J.C." Mabe, age 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000 in Saint Peter’s Hospital in Albany, N.Y.
Mr. Mabe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion in Albany, N.Y. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Albany for many years.
Surviving are three sisters, Dorothy Martin, Roanoke, Bertha Reeves, Marion, and Helen Coley, Wytheville; three brothers, Charles M. Mabe Sr., Oxford, Penn., William R. "Bill" Mabe, Wytheville, and Hurley "June" Mabe, Marion; a very special friend, Ethel Karras of Albany, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Father Robert Krenik officiating. Burial will follow in Attoway Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post 4667.
