671. WILLIAM ALEXANDER6 MABE (ARNOLD5, ALEXANDER4, ROBERT3, ROBERT2, WILLIAM1) was born January 21, 1870 in Pulaski County, Virgina, and died December 12, 1938 in Princton, Mercer County, Missouri. He married MARY RACHEL MURPHY October 23, 1892 in Mercer County, Missouri, daughter of WILLIAM MURPHY and ELIZA KLINE. She was born January 15, 1873 in near Tindall, Missouri, and died January 07, 1957 in Princeton, Mercer Co., Missouri.

Notes for WILLIAM ALEXANDER MABE:
William Alexander Mabe was born on January 21, 1870, in Pulaski County, Virginia, a son of Arnold Mabe, and Martha A. Black. The family came in 1881 to Mercer County and made their home on a farm near Goshen. As a young man, W.A. attended Avalon College in Trenton. He was married on October 23, 1892, to Mary "Mollie" Rachel Murphy who was born on Januray 15, 1873, near Tindall to William L. and Eliza (Cline) Murphy.

Mr. Mabe was widely known over the county, having served for 30 years as a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 1934. W.A. and Mollie were both active in the Christian Church. He served several times as chairman of the board and was an elder. For 35 years Mollie taught Sunday School. Afer a short illness, Mr. Mabe died on Decemeber 12, 1938, at this home in Princeton.

Clifford Lloyd "Cliff" Mabe was the son of Paris Mansfield Mabe who died in 1986, and Florence Mabe who later married Floyd Gable; he had 2 brothers: Arr Cee and wife Jackie, and Richard and wife Betty.

He married (1) Tennie Parsons Dorough who died in 1976; he married (2) Jane Shipley who died in 1996. He had 3 daughters: Bobby Scribner, Kerrye Harp, and Shannia and husband Jared Mullins.

He graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1962. His passions in life were car racing, classic cars, and cross word puzzles. He could be found most every day at Hornback's or B&J Cafe drinking coffee and fellowshipping with his friends.
