Mrs. Lula Manuel Maynard, 98, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Stokes Reynolds Hospital in Danbury.

She was born in Stokes County on June 17, 1908, to the late Luther and Rena Mabe Manuel.

Mrs. Maynard was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. She retired from Duplan Corporation with 30 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Cecil Maynard, in 1970.

Mrs. Maynard is survived by a daughter, Earlene Flinchum and husband, Jack, of King; four grandchildren, Jack Gray Flinchum Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Clemmons, Paul Flinchum and wife, Lori, of Pfafftown, Joy Greene and husband, Chris, of Rural Hall and Tim Flinchum of King; and five great-grandchildren, Macy, Molly, Ben, Rachel and Mark.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Harmon officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
